The New York Yankees beat out the Detroit Tigers in what was a solid game despite the Yankees allowing the Detroit Tigers to come close to a win. Joba Chamberlain was very good in his start, giving up just one run in seven innings. The team had plenty of hits, going up 8-0 before the Tigers could muster their first hit.
