The New York Yankees blew-out the Cleveland Indians yesterday at Progressive Field with the Yankees winning 11 to 4. You don’t often see such high scoring games, and anyone with Indians tickets sure got their money’s worth. This high-scoring game saw the teams combine for a whopping 15 runs! Talk about excitement!
Yankees pitcher Dustin Moseley (3.24 ERA) got the win, while Frank Herrmann (2.82 ERA) took the loss for the Indians. Dustin Moseley went 6 innings for the Yankees, allowed 4 hits, no home runs and one earned run with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts. Also pitching for the Yankees was David Robertson (4.54), and Chan Ho Park (5.60). The Indians’s starter Mitch Talbot went 2 innings, allowed one hit, no home runs and one earned run with 4 walks and one strikeout. Rafael Perez (3.35), Tony Sipp (5.17), Joe Smith (6.05), Jess Todd (7.50), and Andy Marte (0.00) also pitched for the Indians. With the win, Moseley’s record goes to 1-0, while Herrmann falls to 0-1.
In addition to the 11 runs, the Yankees managed 12 hits and committed one error. It wasn’t a huge day for anyone at the plate for the Yankees, as nobody managed more than 2 hits. Robinson Cano had a tough day at the plate, leaving 5 runners on base. The Indians didn’t have anyone with a big night with not one batter getting more than 2 hits. The Indians managed 4 runs, 6 hits and one error.
