The New York Yankees took on the the Baltimore Orioles yesterday at Oriole Park at Camden Yards with the Yankees coming out on top 5 to 1. Mark Hendrickson (4.63), and Brian Bass (4.91) also pitched for the Orioles. With the win, Pettitte’s record goes to 12-6, while Guthrie is at 9-13. Mariano Rivera earned the save for the Yankees, bringing his saves up to 37.
In addition to the 5 runs, the Yankees scored 10 hits and committed one error. Nick Swisher led the Yankees in hitting with 3 hits, followed by Melky Cabrera’s 2 hits, and Robinson Cano with 2. Melky Cabrera had a tough day at the plate, leaving 4 runners on base. The Orioles didn’t have anyone with a big night with not one batter getting more than 2 hits. Nolan Reimold could not get much going at the plate as he left 4 runners on base. The Orioles scored one run, 3 hits and one error.
