The Texas Rangers did battle with the the New York Yankees yesterday at Rangers Ballpark with the Rangers victorious 4 to 1. It was a huge win that rooters with Rangers tickets aren’t likely to forget.
Rangers pitcher Cliff Lee (3.28 ERA) got the win, while Dustin Moseley (4.89 ERA) took the loss for the Yankees. Cliff Lee went 8 solid innings for the Rangers, allowed 2 hits, no home runs and one earned run with 3 walks and 5 strikeouts. The Yankees’s starter Dustin Moseley went 6.2 innings, allowed 5 hits, no home runs and 4 earned runs with 2 walks and one strikeout. Jonathan Albaladejo (1.59) also pitched for the Yankees. With the win, Lee’s record goes to 11-8, while Moseley drops to 4-3. Neftali Feliz earned the save for the Rangers, bringing his saves up to 36.
In addition to the 4 runs, the Rangers put up 7 hits and committed no errors. It wasn’t a huge day for anyone at the plate for the Rangers, as nobody managed more than 2 hits. The Yankees didn’t have anyone with a big night with not one batter getting more than 2 hits. The Yankees mustered one run, 2 hits and no errors.
Umpiring duties were performed by Alfonso Marquez, Dan Iassogna, Dale Scott and Ted Barrett. There were 42,007 Rangers ticket holders in attendance at Rangers Ballpark.
