Red Sox pitcher Daniel Bard (2.57 ERA) got the win, while Mariano Rivera (1.46 ERA) took the loss for the Yankees. Josh Beckett went 4.2 innings for the Red Sox, allowed 5 hits, one home run and 3 earned runs with 3 walks and 6 strikeouts. Also pitching for the Red Sox was Manny Delcarmen (2.25), Ramon Ramirez (5.06), and Hideki Okajima (5.27). The Yankees’s starter CC Sabathia went 7.0 innings, allowed 4 hits, one home run and one earned run with 3 walks and 5 strikeouts. Joba Chamberlain (4.91) also pitched for the Yankees.
